Every year, Charleston is ranked in the Top 10 wedding destinations in the US. Therefore, it comes to no surprise that the majority of our weddings are destination weddings. Our clients have traveled from many cities around the United States, and even as far as India to make Charleston the city they officially tie the knot. This was no exception for Kevin and Jonathan, who traveled with their family and friends from New York to the picturesque lowcountry.
Because Kevin and Jonathan decided to have their wedding in Charleston, they knew the importance of hiring a Charleston wedding planner to help navigate their wedding planning while in New York. After an initial phone call with Linda, they booked a complete planning package, a photography package, and our DJ services with Pinnacle Weddings. This is a popular option for many of our clients, as it ensures you are receiving a professional and well-built team for your wedding day.

Kevin and Jonathan spent a few days in Charleston at the beginning of their wedding planning. During this time, Linda escorted the couple on site visits, food tastings, and floral meetings. The couple made the decision to marry at the breathtaking Creek Club at I’on. Surrounded by the marsh and providing the most spectacular view of a lowcountry sunset, it is the perfect venue for couples who would like to immerse themselves in the Charleston lifestyle and scenery.

The Creek Club provides an outdoor garden overlooking the marsh for the ceremony, a covered wrap-around porch for cocktail hour, and an inside reception area for dinner and dancing. Their services included in-house catering and bar, as well as a few additional features that make the Creek Club one of the most desired wedding venues – supplying tables and chairs for your reception, white garden chairs for ceremony, and a two-sided white bar.

Kevin and Jonathan both looked dashing in their matching suits for their special day. They spent the morning getting ready with their separate wedding parties.

Before the ceremony, their wedding guests were picked up at their respective accommodations by Jasper, the incredibly adorable 1950s Bespoke Supercoach provided by Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle, and were brought to the Creek Club.

The Creek Club offers two options for your ceremony: the marsh view and tree view. Kevin and Jonathan chose the tree view for their ceremony. The ceremony was officiated by their close friend, and their fathers were their best men. The love and support was proudly shown by their loved ones during their exchanging of vows.

The couple were all smiles while signing their marriage license, officially becoming newlyweds!

Once the ceremony was concluded, the guests headed to the porch for cocktail hour. They were welcomed with champagne and trays of delicious food. Kevin and Jonathan made their way through their guests, thanking each of them for attending their special day.

Linda was able to sneak a quick picture with the lovely couple. She was assisted by Amy and Sadie on the day.

Later that evening, Christi, the Pinnacle photographer, took the couple for sunset pictures on the dock overlooking the marsh. The Creek Club provides breathtaking scenery for your wedding portraits. One cannot deny how beautiful these pictures are!

Moonlight Iris Florals displayed beautiful floral arrangements of green and white on the tables and fireplace in the dining area.

Eventhaus and EventWorks supplied the rentals for the special day.

At the start of reception, Kevin and Jonathan were formally introduced as newlyweds by our very own DJ Taylor and were followed by toasts by their loved ones.

Kevin and Jonathan surprised their guests with a Gelato Truck, supplied by Oh So Gelato. Flavors included Nan’s vanilla + cookies, Bacio, Key Lime Pie, and Irish Cream.

The night was complete with dancing. DJ Taylor knew how to get the party started and had multiple guests, as well as our special couple complimenting him at the end of the night.
